Meet Donna Wolf RDN CLT your Nutrition Expert

If you need help with your Health goals for 2016, begin by securing the help of a qualified nutritionist. There are many many people willing to take your hard earned income for any type of advice or “health coaching”.  Be sure the advice you are getting is grounded in credible, evidence-based training, education and experience (or clinical practice) of the practitioner.  Other certifications and credentials are part of continuing education and learning applied within the practice environment.

I practice what I preach, and I’m very dedicated to my clients. I have walked in their shoes, by overcoming a difficult case of Fibromyalgia mixed with arthritis and hypothyroid condition. I’m a fanatic about consuming REAL, HEALTHY, Organic foods, and developing healthy lifestyle habits. This maximizes energy, fights aging & inflammation, and help genes to express their positive wellness potential.

As your nutrition expert I practice functional nutrition. My credentials and experience include the following:

Registered Dietitians (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) are individuals who have:

  • Completed the minimum of a Baccalaureate degree granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent;
  • Met current minimum academic requirements (Didactic Program in Dietetics) as approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics;
  • Completed a supervised practice program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics;
  • Successfully completed the Registration Examination for Dietitians;
  • Remitted the annual registration fee;
  • Complied with the Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) recertification requirements

I earned my RDN status in 1975 and have been in private practice since 2005. My practice was started in Poway, and has expanded to 2 physicians offices, in Poway and Carlsbad.

In 2007 I earned a certificate of completion as a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT). This means I completed extensive  study and advanced clinical training in adverse food reactions, including food allergies, food sensitivities, and food intolerance. CLTs know how to assist clients with the LEAP Immunocalm Diet Protocols, based on the Mediator Release Test (MRT) blood test.  I also Mentor more than 40 other dietitians across the country, who have sought out credentialing as Certified LEAP Therapists.

Additionally  I earned a certificate of training in adult weight management. This certification is offered through the credentialing body of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association).

As a functional nutrition practitioner, I completed continuing education in integrative and functional nutrition. Each February I attend the annual Integrative Health Symposium in New York City. At this 4 day long symposium, the foremost experts in the fields of functional and integrative medicine and nutrition will present over 150 hours of cutting edge, evidence based therapies, research, education, and resources.
