The research was done on the Blue Zone populations around the world, of indigenous people who live healthfully beyond 100 years, with great brain function, memory & remain physically active. Dr. Valter Longo is the lead researcher and has written the book titled The Longevity Diet, based on 15 years of research along with studies done at the two Longevity Institutes, that he is the director of one at USC in Los Angeles and the other in Milan, Italy. Two of those communities with the highest numbers of centenarians are where he grew up in Northern Italy, and where he spent his summers in Calabria. So, it is reliable, factual and evidence-based information. The ProLon® Fasting Mimicking Program is based-off the diet used at the research institutes. He partnered with L-Nutra Company to develop this clinically-based program for public use through trained health professionals (doctors and nutritionists).
