I came to Donna Wolf with Healthy Directions because I was approaching 70 years and still not getting a handle on my weight. All of the diets and plans I had tried to date had my weight yo-yoing up and down as I passed from their management to self-management. There was something I wasn’t getting right. Healthy Directions gets the concept that every person’s situation is different because of their unique histories of food exposures and developed sensitivities.

After my LEAP test results came back, the next couple of months were eye-openers because I dropped almost 20 pounds without doing much of anything except avoiding the foods I was sensitive to. Wow! Healthy Directions has much in common with other plans, because incorporation of good sleep, hydration, balanced diet and exercise are always vital for success. But they don’t obsess over any one factor; instead focusing on getting inflammation managed. By reducing that irritation, it’s easier to make good health choices. 

The next 20 pounds will be easier to ditch now, simply because I know now how my body behaves when I eat certain foods. That feeling of ‘starving’ was more of an addiction-style reaction to eating too much of one thing. Healthy Directions showed me that feeling was actually a choice – one I didn’t have to make.
