Coming to see Donna was one of the best decisions I could have made for my health. I have had stomach problems since I was very little and have gotten very little guidance that has helped. I have had nearly every test done to figure out what was causing my stomach problems and nothing ever came back. I was always told I just had a weird version of IBS and to move on. Fed up, I decided to try seeing a nutritionist and found Donna. Donna uses the LEAP protocol for her patients with potential food allergies/intolerances. I will be honest here, it is not a fun process. You need to be committed to figuring out your food problems for this to work. But if you stick with it, it is so worth it. I strictly followed the protocol for over 4 months and I have learned so much. Some things I already knew (wheat is a problem) but others I didn’t. For instance, gluten grains (such as spelt, which I was using as a wheat substitute) make me sleepy. Also, rice seems to upset my stomach, which is in pretty much every gluten-free item out there. I never would have found these (and other) things out if I had not followed the protocol. Donna helped me through this every step of the way. She was always available by email or phone and she never made me feel rushed at appointments. She will take the time you need during her meetings with you, even if that means a 2-hour meeting. She tries to make sure you have all of the resources you need to make this process easier and is always there with a supportive word. Now that I have gone through the protocol, we are working on healthy eating habits to carry forward. I cannot recommend her enough.
